Thank you. The flowers were real. I was just beginning to decorate back then-- I don't think I'd ever even dreamed of being able to make sugar flowers. Definitely would've gone that way now, but.. I remember being stressed out enough with a box cake and buttercream icing.
Thanks a lot! This was actually the first wedding cake I'd ever done.. I'd only been decorating a few months. I honestly don't know how it all came together so well!
I'm not sure if there are still toppers available, but I know my mom ordered that one for my brother/sister-in-law off of eBay. I looked on there maybe a year or so ago to see if they still sold them (I searched for something like "Love Never Dies Topper") and found several styles, but not this particular one. But who knows, it might be back!
Awesome! Thanks for the appreciation, even if you don't like the subject matter. That's what art's all about. And for the record, 99% of the cakes I do aren't a reflection of who I am, but who I make them for. I think that's what makes each of them so special.
WOW.... just... WOW! It's a shame I don't live near you (I'm in NJ). I was looking for Halloween-themed wedding cakes because my fiance and I are going to get married on Halloween of 2010, and I just have to say that this is by far the best cake I've seen yet. Your brother was very lucky!!
